Living for Christ ~ One Day at a Time

LOVE

Love is . . .

Trustworthy, forgiving, calm, reciprocated, safe, peaceful, consistent, sacrificial, caring, empathetic, patient, kind, authentic, supportive, unconditional, transparent, honest, and self-less. Love is all things God.

Jeremiah wrote in Chapter 31 Verse 3 . . . The Lord appeared to him from afar, saying, “I have loved you with an everlasting love; Therefore, I have drawn you with lovingkindness.

God’s love is endless. It never ceases to exist. It is not circumstantial, nor is it conditional. Many never experience God’s love, nor its power. He loved us so much that He gave His only begotten son, who ransomed His life for ours. His love for us is so great that “we would be called children of God.” 1 John 3:1

I am so thankful that God loves us based on the image He created us in, the plans He has for our lives, His unmerited grace and mercy.

Faith Bit

You’ve stood still.

God has settled it!

He is about to bless you at an exponential rate.

Now, it’s time to MOVE!

Move in the way that The Lord would have you to go.

I promise, you won’t be disappointed.

Perspective

When you are getting ready to walk into a new season – dimension, what was needed and/or desired in the old dimension is no longer necessary. Therefore, you must stop worrying about and trying to reach back and bring along people that aren’t relevant to anything God has set before you to accomplish. Remember Lot’s wife . . . to be continued.

Commentary

Many years ago, I came across the article, “Why I raise my children without God.” At first, I thought, “I do not want to read this.” But then I became curious as to why someone, in this day and time, would even attempt to live their life, let alone raise their children, without Christ.

So, I read it. I must admit, if I were in her shoes, as a non-believer, then everything she said would make perfect sense. But since I’m not ~ I found myself wanting to pray for her, in that she would come into the “full knowledge of Christ.” WE as Christians believe that the Bible is the ‘infallible Word of God.” Infallible meaning ~ not erring, incapable of failing, foolproof, reliable and sound. In saying that, God’s Word provides reassurance that serving Him is the ultimate benefit.

After reading the article, I pulled a few of her points (numbered) and searched for scriptures. I also wondered that if she only took the time to get to know God, then just maybe she would have a different perspective on exactly who HE IS.

Here goes:

1. God is a bad parent and role model. We have free will, yet we should be guided.

(However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth. John 16:13 NKJV)

2. Why God, who is “all powerful” allows murders, child abuse, etc.?

(In the world ye shall have tribulation; but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. John 16:33)

3. God is not fair. Why are children born with heart defects, autism, missing limbs, etc.?

(And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind? Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him. John 9:2-3)

4. God is not present. We tell our children to love someone they cannot see.

(. . . blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed. John 20:29)

5. God teaches narcissism. Telling kids God has a plan for you gives them a sense of false security and selfishness.

(For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Jeremiah 29:11)

After I read the article, I said to myself, “what would her reaction be if something tragic happened to her children?” Would she sit silent? Would she curse God ~ who she doesn’t believe in ~ or would she pray? I’m guessing the latter ~ (Philippians 2:10-11)

No matter what happens or how we perceive things to be; God is good, just, merciful and in control. We’ll never fully understand why certain things happen. We just have to trust and believe in God. In reality, some people ~ no matter what ~ simply do no believe that God IS; while others have been hurt and/or experienced hypocrisy as it relates to the church. So, perhaps we should change our approach. We can start by praying and asking for wisdom in dealing with these individuals and more importantly always exercising love.

Peace & Blessings

Faith Bit

Those who were malicious will soon need your compassion and understanding. Those who were arrogant will soon need your spirit of humility to get them what they need. Those who chose to remain broken will soon need your strength. The circle of life.

Prayer

Prayer is not a way to get God to do what you want Him to do. Stop and think for a moment – is what you want going to glorify (worship) Him? Or are you asking for something that will dishonor Him and that is NOT in accordance with His will?

Prayer is serious business. James 5:16 says, Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another so that you may be healed. The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much. I learned many years ago that it’s not the one who prays, but the one who answers.
